Larnaca Improves Access to Tourist Services for the Visually Impaired
Larnaca is enhancing access to tourist services for people with visual impairments. The initiatives, which aim to support visually impaired citizens, are being carried out by the city's Tourism Board, the Ayios Varnavas School for the Blind, and the non-profit association "ena emeis."
As part of a recent effort, several five- and four-star hotels in Larnaca have introduced menus in Braille, large print, and QR codes.
The hotels participating in this initiative include Golden Bay, Sandy Beach, Lordos Beach, Radisson Blu, E-Hotel, and Robinson. A workshop for hotel staff on how to better serve people with visual impairments is scheduled for December.
According to the Tourism Board, Larnaca’s museums have also been offering similar services since the start of the year.
All of these efforts have been implemented with the support of the Ministry of Tourism.
