The Municipality of Larnaca will take part in the global Earth Hour initiative by switching off the lights of several landmarks for one hour on Saturday, March 22.

Residents are encouraged to join the movement by turning off their own lights from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM as a symbolic gesture to raise awareness about climate change and environmental conservation.

As part of the event, the Kamares Aqueduct and Salina Park will go dark for the hour.

"With this initiative, we are sending a strong message about the urgent need to protect our planet and reduce food waste," the municipality stated.

In addition to Earth Hour, Larnaca is continuing its "Zero Food Waste" campaign, which focuses on promoting responsible consumption and preventing food waste. The municipality remains committed to supporting these efforts, highlighting the importance of sustainable practices for a greener future.
