Delivery Driver Robbed in Limassol: Another Attack Highlights Rising Crime
Limassol continues to experience a troubling surge in attacks on food delivery drivers, with yet another courier falling victim to robbers late last night.
According to police reports, the incident occurred around 12:10 a.m. when a 24-year-old delivery driver of foreign origin was on his way to deliver an order in Limassol. After parking his motorcycle, he was approached by three individuals whose faces were concealed by hoods. One of the attackers threatened him with a metal object and struck him, while the other two grabbed his wallet and two mobile phones before fleeing the scene.
Unfortunately, the ordeal didn’t end there. Shortly afterward, two more masked individuals arrived and stole the courier's motorcycle.
The driver reported the incidents to the police at approximately 3:00 a.m., and an investigation is now underway.
Over the past few months, Limassol and other areas in Cyprus have seen a noticeable rise in crimes targeting food delivery workers. Unlike previous cases, where victims were physically assaulted, this time the driver escaped without injuries, though he lost valuable possessions.
