Another Courier Brutally Beaten in Limassol: Ministry of Justice to Hold Meeting
A food delivery worker has been brutally attacked in Limassol. The assailants sprayed him with gas from a canister and then violently assaulted him.
According to local media, the incident occurred around 2 a.m. today. The courier was riding his motorcycle to fulfill a delivery when young men in a car apparently attacked him at a traffic light.
The delivery worker was taken to the hospital, where he was treated for injuries to his head, pelvis, and back. He has since been sent for further treatment and examinations.
It’s important to note that attacks on couriers in Limassol have become alarmingly frequent, with similar incidents happening several times a week. The most recent attack occurred just a few days ago on October 25, and another incident was reported on October 16.
The police have confirmed that a total of 10 people have been arrested during the first two and a half weeks of October.
The issue of attacks on food delivery workers is causing serious concern for the Ministry of Justice and Public Order. On Monday, Minister Marios Harciotis announced that a meeting will be held at the ministry to address this issue, which he described as "particularly serious."
