In Nicosia, police arrested five illegal workers
The Republic of Cyprus Police conducted a special operation against illegal employment in Nicosia. Five people were arrested during the raids.
According to the police, the operation was conducted in coordination with the immigration service and labor ministry inspectors. Five workers were arrested and detained while working at a construction site: one for illegal work, and four for illegal residence and employment.
The Labor Inspection Department imposed fines for undeclared work on three employers out of court.
Coordinated efforts to combat illegal employment in the country will continue.
