Doctor Charged with Rape in Nicosia: 12 Additional Charges Filed
In Nicosia, a doctor from a local clinic has appeared in court facing charges of raping a patient. During the proceedings, 12 additional charges were brought against him.
Local media reports that the indictment includes accusations of kidnapping and forcibly restraining a person, as well as assault causing severe bodily harm.
According to the victim’s statement, the incident occurred on August 22. The doctor allegedly went to her home, restrained her, and raped her.
Following the complaint, police arrested the suspect. By court order, he was held in custody for 8 days, and on September 2, the arrest warrant was extended for an additional three days.
The case was filed with the Nicosia District Court prior to the hearing.
Today, the authorities have formally charged the doctor with 12 counts, which could result in a life sentence if convicted.
