Suspect Arrested in Nicosia for Eight Burglaries Over Six Years
The Nicosia police have arrested a 58-year-old man suspected of committing eight burglaries in the capital between 2019 and 2024, with the total damage caused by his actions exceeding 110,000 euros.
The suspect was detained on January 27 in connection with a burglary that occurred two days earlier, on January 25. The stolen items included jewelry and other valuables worth around 6,000 euros.
On January 28, the Nicosia District Court ordered the suspect to remain in custody for eight days. During the investigation, police discovered a large number of stolen items, including watches, paintings, jewelry, and silverware, stored in a warehouse.
Investigators believe the suspect is also linked to seven other burglaries in apartments over the past six years. He has since been re-arrested for further questioning.
