The Paphos police have arrested three individuals who were illegally residing in the Republic of Cyprus. A 70-year-old woman has been charged with employing them illegally at her pizzeria.

According to Michalis Nikolaou, Assistant Director of Paphos Police, on August 28 at around 12:30 PM, officers from the Foreigners and Immigration Service conducted an inspection at a pizzeria in the Chloraka area. This action followed reports that the establishment was employing foreigners without proper documentation.

During the inspection, three Asian nationals were found working at the pizzeria without the required work permits. The individuals include two 31-year-olds and one 37-year-old. All three were working illegally, without authorization from immigration authorities.

Further investigation revealed that the three individuals were also residing in the Republic without valid residence permits.

The three illegal immigrants have been taken to the Paphos police station and are being held in custody pending their court appearance.

Additionally, the 70-year-old local woman, identified as the manager of the pizzeria, has been formally charged and released on a written summons to appear in court at a later date.
