In Paphos, the restoration of the old police station will begin on Wednesday
The Municipality of Paphos has announced the commencement of construction works to service and restore the old central police station. The reconstruction of this historic building will commence on Wednesday, June 12, and is slated to continue for three months until mid-September.
According to the municipality's announcement, the works will affect part of the ascent along Georgiou Griva Digeni Avenue, from the traffic light at Kennedy Square to the intersection with Gregoris Afxentiou Street.
Vehicle traffic from Gladstonos Street to Georgiou Griva Digeni Avenue will be redirected through Evagoras Pallikaridis, Charalambou Mouskou, and Gregoris Afxentiou Streets.
Vehicles from Evagoras Pallikaridis Avenue to Georgiou Griva Digeni Avenue will be rerouted through Ioanni Agroti Street and then through 25th March Street.
Vehicles on Gregoris Afxentiou Street will be permitted to turn right towards Georgiou Griva Digeni Avenue.
Drivers are kindly requested to understand the temporary inconveniences, to drive at reduced speed and with extra caution, strictly adhering to traffic signs and indicators.
It is worth noting that it was previously reported that in Nicosia, preparations are underway for the reconstruction of the oldest police station on the island, located above the gates of Paphos. Paphos Gate in old Nicosia has been vacant for almost ten years.
