New Inpatient Drug Rehab Facility to Open in Paphos
A new inpatient rehabilitation center for individuals struggling with drug addiction is set to open in Paphos, following the approval of the local municipality.
Annita Taliotou, Chairperson of the “Tolmi” Addiction Treatment Centre, shared the plans in an interview with the Cyprus News Agency.
“There is currently no inpatient treatment facility of this kind in Paphos, which seriously limits access to care and increases the social isolation of people living with addiction,” Taliotou noted.
The project’s main objective is to create a modern, safe, and supportive rehabilitation space, where individuals can rebuild their lives with dignity—without having to leave their community or support network.
Taliotou also expressed concern about the growing drug problem in the Paphos district. Cannabis remains the most commonly used substance, but there has also been a rise in the use of stimulants, including methamphetamine and cocaine.
