The construction of the Greek Revolution Monument of 1821 was completed in Paphos on Sunday. The monument is situated in the city park.

Paphos Mayor Fedonas Fedonos stated that the monument “will inspire future generations with the ideals and values of the great struggle while also conveying relevant messages to contemporary society, especially to the youth.”

The contract was signed by architect Ioannis Koutsolambros of Lambrianos Koutsolambros Architects Ltd, artist Katerina Foukra, sculptor Arsentis Lisenkov, and GM Building Ltd.

According to the architect, the team's goal was to “create a monument that not only commemorates the epic but is also accessible and multifunctional, allowing visitors, especially children, to explore its various aspects.”

He also noted that the monument will feature QR codes, which visitors can scan to obtain additional information, read texts, and view other artworks related to the Greek Revolution.
