15 Reports and Two Complaints Filed with Cyprus Police by Victims of Financial Pyramid Scheme

The Cyprus police have received two complaints and fifteen reports from victims of the financial pyramid scheme “Metamax.” Victims are being asked to come forward to provide statements.

According to the police press service, the complainants stated that they were asked to invest a certain amount of money in this platform and to invite other participants. However, when they attempted to withdraw their share, the company disappeared.

A police spokesperson has advised those who have filed reports to visit their local crime investigation departments to give statements.

It was reported earlier that the Cyprus police are investigating the case of a well-known financial pyramid scheme. Several individuals have allegedly fallen victim to the scam, losing thousands of euros.

The police have instructed district criminal investigation departments to collect complaints about this scheme and have urged potential victims to report it to law enforcement.

It is noted that, in addition to Cyprus, victims of “Metamax” have also been identified in Afghanistan and the Philippines.
