Over 1,000 Drug-Related Cases Investigated in Cyprus Last Year
The Cyprus Police have reported on their drug seizure operations for 2024, revealing that a total of 616 kg of cannabis and 54 kg of cocaine were discovered across the country.
According to data published on platform X, a total of 1,075 drug-related cases were investigated last year, involving 1,147 individuals.
Law enforcement officers seized:
- 616.9 kg of cannabis
- 54.1 kg of cocaine
- 696 ecstasy tablets and 544 grams of MDMA
- 34 kg of cathinone
- 1,802 THC-based pharmaceutical products
“The officers of the Anti-Narcotics Unit (YKAN) are carrying out crucial work. Their efforts are relentless, as reflected in the large number of seizures and investigations,” the Cyprus Police stated.
Earlier reports indicated that in 2024 and January 2025, Cypriot authorities seized over 1,450 cannabis-based products, including THC-infused gummy candies and cookies, with a total weight of 29 kg.
