A major forest fire broke out in the Paphos area
On Monday, a major forest fire broke out in the forest area of Ayios Yiannis Salami village in the Paphos district of Cyprus. Firefighting teams are working at the scene.
According to George Constantinou, a press representative of the Department of Forests, the fire is burning in low vegetation on the border of the jurisdiction of the Fire Department and the Department of Forests.
At the moment, four fire engines are involved in extinguishing the fire, two of which are from the Department of Forests. It is expected that firefighting efforts will be reinforced with additional resources in the near future.
