Over the weekend, Christmas festivities will take place in the center of Nicosia: the holiday program
In Nicosia, for the next three days, Christmas folk celebrations will be held. From Friday evening to Sunday, residents can expect performances by musicians, dancers, and other artists dressed in red, green, and white.
As reported by Cyprus Mail, today and tomorrow, Santa Claus will ride a motorcycle through the streets of the capital from the Cyprus Museum of Classic Motorcycles. From 10:00 to 20:00, a Christmas market will be open on the approach to Eleftheria Square, showcasing various creations.
Additionally, from 10:00 to 18:00, Christmas markets will be open at Eleftheria Square, Ledra Street, and Faneromeni Square. Live music will be played at the intersection of Ledra Street and Onasagoru at 11:00, and at 14:30, the "Treasure Hunt" relay will begin, starting from Eleftheria Square.
From 10:00 to 17:00, Spirokis Square will host Children's Entertainment Day, which will conclude around 18:00 at the intersection of Makarios and Spyros Kyprianou Avenues with a large children's parade led by a percussion orchestra. The parade will end near Eleftheria Square, where Santa Clauses will distribute gifts to children.
On Saturday, celebrations will also take place in Kaimakli. At 18:00 in Ayia Varvara Square, a festive event with performances by children's choirs and dance shows from NDC Nicosia Center and Choros will be held. Local delicacies will be sold in the square.
Festivities will continue on Sunday. Christmas bazaars will remain open, and Eleftheria Square will host a series of educational events and performances throughout the day. At Spirokis Square, Christmas hymns will sound at 11:00 and 12:00, along with a magic show. From 15:00 to 18:00, a DJ will entertain festival-goers. Craft stalls, food, and drinks will be available. Elves will roam Stasikratous Street to take photos with children, and at 20:00, a Christmas truck decorated in Coca-Cola style will arrive on Makarios Avenue and Stasikratous Street.
