On Green Monday in Cyprus, thunderstorms and dust in the air are expected: weather on March 18th
According to the Department of Meteorology of the Republic of Cyprus, on Monday, March 18th, the region is experiencing low pressure. Fine dust will occasionally hang in the atmosphere.
Today, in the first half of the day, variable cloudiness is expected, with brief showers possible in some areas. After midday, meteorologists predict local showers and thunderstorms, especially in the mountains and the eastern half of the island. Hail may also fall during thunderstorms.
According to the meteorological forecast, the daytime air temperature today will reach up to 21°C in the inland areas and on the coasts, and up to 9°C in the mountainous regions.
By the evening, variable cloudiness will persist in some areas, with isolated downpours expected, and thunderstorms possible in the east as well.
The air temperature will drop to around 11°C in the inland areas, to 13°C in the southeast and on the eastern coast, to 12°C on the remaining coasts, and to 3°C in the mountainous regions, where localized frost is expected.
In the coming days, the air temperature will slightly increase and continue to fluctuate above seasonal averages.
