Stolen Motorcycle Set on Fire in Limassol, Car Burns in Paphos

A fire broke out in Limassol last night in the parking lot of the Church of the Holy Cross, where unknown assailants set a stolen motorcycle on fire.

According to Andreas Kettis, a spokesperson for the fire department, the blaze started around 6:00 PM, causing severe damage to the motorcycle. Police have launched an investigation after discovering that the bike had been stolen.

Preliminary reports suggest that the motorcycle was stolen on Friday evening from a parking lot behind the owner's house.

In a separate incident, a 21-year-old's car was set alight in Paphos early this morning, around 4:30 AM. Firefighters quickly arrived at the scene and managed to put out the fire.

It’s reported that the car was parked in a field when the fire started. The vehicle had been towed there the previous Sunday after suffering mechanical issues. Police have not ruled out arson.

Both incidents are being investigated by the fire department and the police.
