Over 200 migrants left Cyprus in a week
During the past week, more than 200 migrants were repatriated from the Republic of Cyprus after the police determined that they were residing in the country illegally.
According to the police, a total of 239 people were returned to their home countries. Specifically, on Thursday evening of last week, another 16 migrants were deported, departing from Larnaca Airport, as part of a mission organized by the French police and FRONTEX, with the participation of the Cypriot police.
Thus, since the beginning of the year, a total of 814 people who were found to be residing illegally in the Republic of Cyprus have voluntarily returned home.
The police also reported that in 2023, 9699 people were repatriated to their countries.
