Number of Students Doubles in Cyprus Over the Past 10 Years
The number of students in Cyprus has doubled over the past decade, announced by Minister of Health Michael Damianos during the diploma award ceremony at Frederick University in Nicosia.
According to the minister, the development of the university education sector in Cyprus over the past decades has been significant, becoming a crucial pillar for the country's economy with substantial potential for further growth.
The Health Minister also highlighted that the activities of many prestigious university institutions have led to economic benefits, mitigated brain drain, attracted foreign investments, and boosted demand and tourism.
Emphasizing the systematic and collaborative efforts of both the government and university institutions, the minister noted that the number of university students in Cyprus has nearly doubled over the last ten years.
"Higher education in our country operates within frameworks that guarantee academic quality and excellence," stated Michael Damianos.
He further added that Cyprus is a safe and easily accessible destination for third-country nationals, and recognized educational programs in Greek and English languages can attract students' interest both domestically and internationally.
