50 Undocumented Migrants Detained in Cyprus on Sunday
A large-scale operation carried out by Cyprus’s Immigration Service on Sunday led to the detention of 50 individuals found to be living illegally on the island.
The arrests were made during coordinated raids across various locations, and authorities have already launched deportation procedures. Some of those detained were repatriated the very same day.
According to a statement from the police press office, all 50 individuals will be deported in the near future.
Since the beginning of the year, 5,110 undocumented migrants have been located and repatriated from Cyprus — a significant increase compared to 4,430 during the same period last year.
