21 Illegal Migrants Caught in Cyprus Over the Weekend
During the past weekend, Cyprus conducted an operation to tackle illegal immigration across the island. As a result of these checks, authorities detained 21 individuals found to be residing illegally.
The nationwide operation was coordinated by the headquarters of the Immigration and Asylum Service (IA&M), working in collaboration with provincial authorities.
Searches were conducted, leading to the identification and arrest of 21 third-country nationals found to be residing illegally in the Republic of Cyprus during raids across all provinces.
All 21 arrested individuals have been taken into custody. Procedures for their return to their countries of origin will commence immediately.
Efforts by the police, healthcare, and security services to combat illegal and irregular immigration continue on a daily basis.
