British Fraudster Arrested in France Extradited to Cyprus
A 35-year-old British citizen, who was arrested in France last December under a European warrant issued by Cypriot authorities for fraud-related offenses, has been extradited to Cyprus. The suspect is set to appear before the Larnaca District Court later today.
The arrest occurred on December 26 as part of an investigation into charges of conspiracy to commit a serious crime, obtaining goods through deception, computer fraud, and money laundering. Following the arrest, officers from the Larnaca Criminal Investigation Department traveled to France to escort the suspect back to Cyprus.
The suspect was flown to Larnaca Airport last night, and the court is expected to issue a decision on his detention later today.
The alleged crimes took place in 2016 and involve a sum of €31,000 reportedly linked to a company based in Larnaca. The investigation into the case remains ongoing.
