A resident of Limassol, Cyprus, lost over 19 thousand euros due to cryptocurrency fraud
The 42-year-old woman realized she had fallen victim to criminals and reported the incident to the police.
According to the police press service, the woman sought help from law enforcement and explained that an unknown person had contacted her online, claiming to live in Switzerland.
The man persuaded her to download two cryptocurrency applications on her mobile phone, create two electronic wallets, and provide him with all the details of her card.
As a result, the trusting woman lost a total of 19,200 euros. The fraudster withdrew all this money from her bank accounts and then asked his victim for more money.
At this point, the woman realized she had become a victim of fraud and reported it to the police.
