Best Kite Surfing Spots in Cyprus

Paramali

Located between Limassol and Paphos, at the first exit after the tunnel if you are coming from Limassol, or at the exit before the tunnel if you are coming from Paphos. The beach stretches for about 2 km and works best with southwest winds, which blow most of the summer in Cyprus. Paramali is a small village belonging to the British sovereign bases on the island.

Akrotiri

Akrotiri, also known as "Sunken Ships," is located near Limassol in the village of Akrotiri and is part of the sovereign bases in Cyprus, as well as a nesting beach for turtles. Akrotiri is a small bay with enough space for 10 kite surfers, no more, as it would get very crowded otherwise. The best winds for this spot are west, southwest, and northwest, and there are usually small waves.

Kiti Beach (Softades)

Located near Larnaca. This is the most popular kite surfing spot in Cyprus, known for its wide sandy beaches and shallow waters. It is ideal for both beginners and experienced riders. Reliable and steady winds, especially in the summer months.

Curium Beach

Located near Limassol. Known for its nearby archaeological sites and beautiful landscapes, Curium Beach also offers excellent kite surfing conditions with stronger waves, making it suitable for more advanced surfers. Predominantly crosswinds provide a great mix of waves and flat water.

Lady's Mile Beach

Located within Limassol. A long sandy stretch with plenty of space for launching and landing kites. The water near the shore is usually calm, making it a great spot for beginners. Consistent thermal winds throughout the summer. It is good to kite here with any east wind—southeast or northeast. This beach offers a beautiful view of Limassol.
