2024 Set to Break Records for Tourist Arrivals in Cyprus

The year 2024 is poised to set a new record for tourist arrivals in the Republic of Cyprus. As of November 30, the total number of tourists who have visited the island this year has already surpassed the entire number of arrivals in 2023.

In November, Larnaca and Paphos airports together handled 715,231 passengers, a 7.01% increase compared to November 2023. From January to November, passenger numbers were up by 5% compared to the same period last year.

Passenger traffic at Larnaca Airport saw a growth of 7.39%, while Paphos Airport recorded a 6.05% increase compared to 2023.

The largest number of tourists continues to come from the United Kingdom, Greece, Poland, Israel, and Germany. Additionally, the number of flights increased by 4.89% compared to 2023, reaching a total of 6,309 flights.

Transport Minister Alexis Vafeades has stated that by the end of this year, tourist arrivals are expected to grow by 5% compared to the previous year.

“This growth is having a positive impact on both Cyprus' economy and its tourism sector. The Ministry will continue to focus on improving the island’s transport accessibility and enhancing passenger services at Larnaca and Paphos airports,” said the minister.
