From August 24, 2026, drivers meeting passengers at Ercan Airport in Northern Cyprus will need to use the parking lot: waiting on the road to the arrivals terminal will be prohibited, and the first hour for such vehicles will cost 50 TL. Ercan Airport offers parking for passengers, as well as for those picking up and dropping off passengers.

New traffic rules from August 24, 2026

From August 24, 2026, a new traffic flow scheme will come into effect at Ercan Airport in Northern Cyprus. A test period is planned before the official launch. The changes are intended to reduce congestion near the arrivals terminal and organize passenger pick-up and drop-off.

What will change for private vehicles

It will not be possible to wait for passengers on the access road to the arrivals terminal. Drivers arriving to meet passengers will need to enter the parking lot. For such vehicles, the first hour will cost 50 TL. This is a special rate for picking up passengers under the new scheme and does not replace all the long-term parking rates listed below.

What will change for taxis and buses

A separate waiting area will be designated for taxis, buses, and other tourist transport. No more than five taxis and five buses will be allowed at the exit of the arrivals terminal at the same time. The remaining vehicles will be called forward as spaces become available.

New exit from the parking lot

The entry and exit scheme will be changed. The exit will be moved to the eastern part of the parking lot so that vehicles can head directly to the airport's main exit and do not return to the arrivals terminal.

The current rates are provided as of January 2026. Prices are indicated in Turkish lira and depend on the length of stay. The first 15 minutes are free.

How to find parking at Ercan Airport

As you approach the terminal, keep to the right—the signs will lead you to the parking area. From the parking area, you can access both the arrivals area (at ground level) and the departures area (via the lift to the second floor).

How to pay for parking at Ercan Airport

There are payment booths at the parking exit where staff accept payment. Cash and bank cards are available. As you approach the barrier, the vehicle number is read by a camera, and payment information appears on the display.

How to do it

1. Enter the parking lot by following the signs near the terminal.
2. Before leaving, drive up to the payment area (the booths at the exit).
3. Pay in cash or by card using the information on the display, then exit through the barrier.

What alternative parking options are available near the airport

Private parking lots operate near the airport: they usually offer a transfer to and from the terminal.
