Electricity rates in Northern Cyprus

From June 1, 2026, a progressive Kib-Tek tariff applies to household consumers in Northern Cyprus: from 5.8614 TL per 1 kWh for consumption up to 250 kWh and up to 16.8444 TL per 1 kWh for consumption above 1000 kWh. The fixed fee under the household tariff is 110.58 TL.

Electricity rates

Electricity rates in Northern Cyprus are regulated by the state-owned company Kib-Tek. Below are the household rates effective from June 1, 2026. Prices are given per 1 kWh.

A fixed fee of 110.58 TL also applies under the household tariff. For the social category, a preferential rate of 0.3442 TL per 1 kWh is indicated for the first 500 kWh.

Three-zone tariff

For some consumers, a three-zone tariff is available, where the cost depends on the time of day.

The most up-to-date information is published on the official Kib-Tek website in the «Tarifeler» section. There you can download PDF files with current and past tariffs. The last document in the list is the most up to date.

Who to call in case of a power outage

If the power goes out, check whether maintenance work is underway — this is a common cause of outages. In the event of a local failure or a delay in payment, you need to contact Kib-Tek. Each region has its own number; you can find them in this article.

How to pay for electricity

You can pay the bill in several ways:

• through the Kib-Tek online service;
• on the Pay Point Cyprus website;
• at Kib-Tek cash desks and payment acceptance points;
• through mobile apps of Cypriot banks.

Can solar panels be installed?
