36-year-old woman dies after road accident on the Güzelyurt–Lefkoşa highway
36-year-old Melis Luman died in hospital after a serious road accident that occurred on 12 August on the Güzelyurt–Lefkoşa highway.
According to police, the accident occurred at around 16:00 between the 14th and 15th kilometres of the highway. Melis Luman was driving a vehicle with registration number VP 156 and sustained serious injuries. After the accident, the woman was taken to the surgical intensive care unit of Dr Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital in Lefkoşa.
Doctors provided her with the necessary medical care for 11 days, but were unable to save her. Melis Luman died on 23 August.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident.
