Doctors’ association sharply criticized the authorities for showmanship instead of real reforms in healthcare
The Cyprus Medical Association (KTTB) issued a sharp statement to the leadership of the healthcare sector, demanding an end to publicity stunts and a focus on real management and patient safety. According to the medical community, the country’s healthcare system now needs not beautiful reports and “showmanship,” but a strict audit, effective management and the creation of safe conditions for providing care.
Doctors stress that behind the outwardly favorable façade lie serious systemic failures, staff shortages and problems with service quality control. KTTB noted that the safety of citizens in public healthcare institutions must be an absolute priority that cannot be replaced by temporary or purely cosmetic solutions.
The association called on the relevant authorities to immediately review management protocols and to engage in an open dialogue with practicing specialists. Doctors insist on the introduction of a transparent control system that will make it possible to identify risks to public health in time and efficiently allocate resources, rather than spend time creating the appearance of success.
