Airfares from Ercan have risen sharply ahead of the holiday: up to TL 13,600 per trip

As the holiday approaches, demand for flights from Ercan Airport to Turkey has risen sharply, and with it, ticket prices. A study conducted by KIBRIS journalists showed a significant increase in fares to Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir, especially for those who leave their purchase until the last moment.

Passengers planning a trip to Istanbul face different prices depending on the arrival airport and the airline. Thus, a round trip from Ercan to Sabiha Gökçen Airport can reach TL 8,183 including baggage. A more affordable option to Istanbul’s main airport comes to around TL 7,019 with minimum fares and additional baggage fees.

On the Ercan–Ankara route, ticket prices also remain high. The minimum round-trip fare, including baggage, is approximately TL 8,660. Experts note that a significant part of the cost is made up of additional services, including baggage allowance.

The most expensive destination was Izmir. According to the study, a round trip from Ercan to Adnan Menderes Airport costs passengers about TL 13,634. Even base fares without baggage remain high, and additional fees increase the final amount further.

Specialists note that early booking makes it possible to save significantly, whereas buying tickets in the last days before the holiday leads to a substantial increase in expenses. As a result, trips to visit relatives on the mainland become a notable financial burden for many residents.
