Near East University Holds a Large-Scale Graduation Ceremony for 2,613 Students

Near East University, which is among the world’s top 500 universities and ranked 39th in the Times Higher Education (THE) 2026 World University Impact Rankings, has concluded a four-day marathon of graduation celebrations. In the festive atmosphere of the NEU Event Park complex, diplomas were awarded to 2,613 graduates representing 21 faculties, 3 schools and the Institute of Graduate Studies. On the final day of the festival, completion documents for the spring semester of the 2025–2026 academic year were presented to 564 specialists in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy and veterinary medicine.

In his welcoming speech, the chairman of the board of trustees of the Near East educational network, Professor İrfan Suat Günsel, emphasized the university’s international character and its global academic achievements. He noted that the university ranks 8th in the world in the category of “Sustainable Cities and Communities” and 11th in “Quality Education.” University Rector Professor Tamer Şanlıdağ added that the high positions in global rankings reflect a strong scientific foundation and a respected legacy with which young professionals go on to work around the world.

Representatives of the student community выступed at the official ceremony: dentist Berkay Hamurcu on behalf of Turkish students and Dr. Sohaib Alsalhadi on behalf of international graduates of the Faculty of Medicine. An unusual moment of the celebration was the broadcast of a video message from AI Professor DUX (Ai. Prof. DUX), a virtual lecturer based on artificial intelligence, who encouraged the graduates not to fear mistakes and to keep dreaming. The ceremonial evening, attended by the graduates’ family members and representatives of the Ministry of Education, concluded with a musical show and a grand celebratory fireworks display.
