In Girne, man accused of threatening to kill his wife and children appears in court
According to police, B.G.’s 26-year-old wife told him that she wanted a divorce. The man allegedly then said: «There is a gun in the car; I will shoot you in the head. I will kill both you and the children». Following the woman’s complaint, B.G. was detained. During the investigation, police also established that the man’s children had complained about him and reported repeated death threats.
At the hearing, B.G. did not deny making the threats, but said that he had said it in a moment of anger. «I have three children; I do not want a divorce. Apart from Allah, I have no one», — the defendant said. Judge Hazal Hacımulla barred the man from leaving the country until the case is heard. He was allowed to be released on bail of 30,000 Turkish liras and a guarantee from a citizen of the TRNC in the amount of 500,000 liras.
However, B.G. was unable to meet the release conditions and was sent to prison.
