TRNC Central Bank records TRY 9.6 billion profit in 2025
The Central Bank of the TRNC published its 2025 activity report. According to the document, the bank’s profit amounted to 9 billion 567 million 300 thousand Turkish lira, an increase of 39.65% compared with the previous year.
The bank’s total assets increased by 33.2% to 204 billion 443 million 100 thousand lira.
As part of its regulatory and supervisory activities, in 2025 the Central Bank’s board requested explanations from seven banks and one independent audit organisation. Two banks were issued warnings, while five banks received administrative fines. Consideration of the case involving the audit organisation was postponed until 2026.
The Central Bank’s electronic payment system operates around the clock. In 2025, 1 million 817 thousand 50 transactions were processed through it, 59% more than a year earlier. The share of transactions conducted outside working hours reached 24.5%.
Since 22 August 2025, a credit risk checking service has been available through the e-government portal. It enables individuals to obtain information about their credit obligations electronically without visiting the Central Bank in person.
As of the end of 2025, the Central Bank employed 123 people. In 2024, the figure stood at 124.
During 2025, two employees retired, one resigned, and two new permanent employees were hired. A total of 54 employees took part in training programmes held online and in person.
