TRNC Central Bank once again became the country’s most profitable bank: TL 9.57 billion in 2025

The Central Bank of the TRNC once again proved to be the country’s most profitable bank in 2025: its profit amounted to TL 9 billion 567 million 263 thousand — more than that of any other bank operating in Northern Cyprus.

The figure is stated in the Central Bank’s 2025 annual report, which was published in August. At the bank’s exchange buying rate announced on 31 December 2025, this amount was equivalent to approximately USD 223 million 221 thousand.

Compared with 2024, profit increased by 39.65%. The previous year, the bank earned TL 6 billion 850 million 866 thousand, or approximately USD 195 million.

The report also shows that expenses grew faster: the bank’s total income increased by 72.1% over the year, while total expenses rose by 85.9%.

The TRNC Central Bank has held first place in terms of profit among Northern Cyprus banks for many consecutive years.
