EMU ranks 1st in the TRNC and 691st in the world in the QS university rankings

Eastern Mediterranean University (DAÜ) achieved a major success in the prestigious QS World University Rankings 2027. The university ranked 691st among the world’s top 1,504 universities and was once again recognized as the best higher education institution in the TRNC.

Key indicators and achievements:
• Global standing: In the global list, DAÜ managed to surpass 54.1% of the educational institutions assessed worldwide. Among the 28 Turkish universities included in the ranking, DAÜ took a strong 10th place.
• International students: In the share of international students, the university rose 6 positions compared with last year and ranked 13th in the world.
• Graduate employability: In the category of graduate demand in the labor market, the university improved its result, moving up 5 places to 310th in the global ranking.
• Strongest areas: The university received the highest scores for criteria such as “International students ratio” (100 points), “International faculty ratio” (86.5 points) and “International research network” (61.5 points).

Management comment:
The Rector of DAÜ, Professor Hasan Kılıç, expressed great pride in the result and emphasized that the rankings clearly demonstrate the international competitiveness of the university’s degrees. According to him, the breakthrough in the international student indicators reflects the university’s multicultural structure and global vision.
