Doğukan Ulaç to represent Türkiye at the European Aquatics Championships

Turkish Cypriot open-water swimmer Doğukan Ulaç will compete for the Turkish national team at the 2026 European Aquatics Championships, which will take place in Paris from 4 to 8 August.

The open-water swimming events will be held in the Seine River — the same venue that hosted the Olympic events in this discipline during the 2024 Olympics. Ulaç will compete in several events as part of Türkiye's national team.

The athlete's competition schedule:

— 4 August — men's 10-kilometre race;
— 5 August — men's 5-kilometre race;
— 7 August — men's 3-kilometre race in the Knockout Sprint format;
— 8 August — mixed 4×1500-metre relay (if the coaching staff includes him in the team).

The 10- and 5-kilometre races will start at 10:00 Paris time, while the 3-kilometre race will begin at 11:00. The events will be broadcast on the Eurovision Sport platform.

Ulaç will face strong competition in the 10-kilometre event: the entrants include Olympic champions and medallists from the most recent Games — Hungary's Kristóf Rasovszky, Germany's Oliver Klemet, Hungary's Dávid Betlehem and 2020 Olympic champion Florian Wellbrock.

In addition to Doğukan Ulaç, Türkiye's 10-kilometre team will also include Emir Batur Albayrak and Muhammed Yavuz Selim Oğuz.
