Lefke Environmental Society: The septic tank situation in the region is an environmental scandal
The Lefke Association for Environmental Protection and Ecology issued a sharp statement, demanding that the authorities urgently solve the long-standing problem of overflowing and leaking septic tanks (fosseptik). Representatives of the association stressed that the situation directly threatens the health of local residents and the region's ecosystem, while all promises previously made by officials have remained unfulfilled. In addition, environmentalists drew attention to the increasingly frequent disruptions in the work of municipal waste collection services, which only worsens the overall sanitary situation in Lefke.
