El-Sen: AKSA is bringing two generators from 2000 from a landfill in Bangladesh to the TRNC
Ahmet Tugcu, chairman of the El-Sen trade union representing electricity workers in Northern Cyprus, said that AKSA had purchased two Wärtsilä generators manufactured in 2000 from a landfill in Bangladesh and was preparing to bring them into the TRNC.

Tugcu made the statement on his social media page. According to him, the agreement has already been concluded, while work to deliver the two machines, which are 26 years old, is continuing without interruption.
El-Sen represents employees of Kıb-Tek, the TRNC’s state-owned electricity company responsible for generating and distributing electricity in Northern Cyprus. Turkey’s AKSA supplies electricity under a contract and remains a major private player in the local market.
