Ercan Airport served almost 4 million passengers in the first eight months of 2026
Ercan Airport — the main gateway to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus — served 3,979,248 passengers from 1 January to 31 August 2026. During the same period in 2025, 3,656,122 passengers passed through the airport.
According to the operator T&T, the number of arriving passengers increased by 8.60%, departing passengers by 9.07%, while total passenger traffic grew by 8.84%.
Air traffic increased by the same amount: the number of takeoffs and landings rose from 23,995 in January–August 2025 to 26,115 in 2026. Arrivals grew by 8.85% and departures by 8.82%.
August was the busiest month of 2026: 600,290 passengers passed through the airport and 3,668 aircraft were handled. In August 2025, the figures were lower — 553,441 passengers and 3,410 aircraft.
Ercan remains the largest airport on the island. The operator highlights the terminal’s passenger capacity, technical infrastructure, modern architecture and energy-efficient solutions used in its operation.
