Erdogan Sends a Clear Signal on Cyprus: Our Response Will Be Very Tough
In his speech at a meeting of the parliamentary group of the Justice and Development Party (AK Party), Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made a strong statement regarding the situation in the Eastern Mediterranean and Cyprus.
In his speech, he warned that if the rights and laws of Turkey and the Turkish Cypriots in the Eastern Mediterranean are violated, Ankara's response will be extremely clear and very tough. Erdogan stressed that they are closely monitoring developments and will not allow the emergence of pockets of instability on the island.
The president also criticized the actions of some minor geopolitical players in the region, saying that they have sided with Israel and taken on the role of “subcontractors of Zionism” for the sake of illusory ambitions in the Eastern Mediterranean. He called on external forces not to get involved in adventures and added that unless Israeli policy in the region is restrained, all humanity will have to pay the price for the consequences.
