Erhürman and Christodoulides agree to meet once a week
TRNC President Tufan Erhürman and President of the Republic of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides have agreed to meet once a week, and more often if necessary. The UN made the announcement following the leaders’ talks in the buffer zone on 26 August.

The UN Secretary-General’s Personal Representative for Cyprus, Maria Angela Holguín, did not attend the meeting. According to Christodoulides, she will return to the island in early September, while the UN’s preparations to bring the sides’ positions closer are at an advanced stage.
Erhürman plans to make a separate statement on the outcome of the talks at the presidential palace.
