A new wastewater pumping station will be built on Kerem Street in the Ayluka-Çanakkale neighbourhood. On Ötüken Street in the Karakol neighbourhood, 140 m of the main sewerage line will be laid and connections to the plots will be installed.
Under the technical specifications, the contractor is required not only to lay the pipes but also to restore the roads, pavements and other surfaces in the areas where the work was carried out to their original condition.
Those attending the signing ceremony included Özkan Oza, chair of the municipality’s tender commission, and commission member Özgür Dedeoğlu.
Famagusta Mayor Süleyman Uluçay said that over nearly four years in office, the municipality had conducted and brought to completion around 150 tenders. He described the fourth phase of the sewerage project as part of a plan to strengthen the city’s infrastructure with future needs in mind: once the works are completed, the Ayluka-Çanakkale and Karakol neighbourhoods will receive new sewerage networks.
