Gönyeli-Alayköy Municipality completes stormwater collector on Soylu Street

Gönyeli-Alayköy Municipality in Northern Cyprus is completing the construction of a stormwater collector on Soylu Street. The work is being carried out as part of preparations for winter, Mayor Hüseyin Amcaoğlu said.

According to him, the new channel connected two main stormwater lines with a diameter of 1,000 mm, which converge in the area, to a safe drainage system. The first runs from the Ayyıldız highway to Soylu Street, while the second, an existing line, begins on Gazi Mustafa Cahit Avenue, passes beneath the main road and reaches Soylu Street via Damla Street.

The passage beneath the roadway has been completed and, according to the mayor, the system has become a single whole. “We are not postponing the city’s needs and are continuing long-term investments with the same determination,” Amcaoğlu said.
