The state has put scrap metal and old batteries up for auction

The Department of State Property and Materials will hold an open auction for the sale of unsorted scrap metal (including aluminum, copper and cable scrap), used batteries and empty hunting cartridges. The auction will take place for cash this Friday at 10:00 at the department’s warehouse in Haspolat. The lots are located in various government institutions across Northern Cyprus, including warehouses in Nicosia, Famagusta, Kyrenia (at Akçiçek Hospital) and Güzelyurt.

Those wishing to take part in the auction must submit a set of documents to the Department of State Property by the end of the working day on June 11, including a certificate of no tax arrears and a temporary bank guarantee of 150,000 lira valid for 30 days (or a receipt confirming the deposit of this amount). The tender specifications must be purchased by the stated deadline, and the cost is 3,000 lira. Bidders for the purchase of batteries must also hold a license from the Department of Environmental Protection for their transportation and storage.
