42-year-old worker dies in Haspolat industrial zone, truck driver detained
A 42-year-old worker died in the Haspolat industrial zone on the outskirts of Lefkoşa after a truck’s hydraulic ramp fell on him. The truck driver has been detained, and police are investigating.

T., was lowering the hydraulic ramp of his truck when a worker — MD Serazul Haq — was passing underneath it. The ramp fell on him.
The man was taken with serious injuries to Dr Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital in Lefkoşa, the main hospital in the capital of the TRNC. Doctors carried out all necessary interventions, but were unable to save the worker.
Haspolat is an industrial zone on the outskirts of Lefkoşa, home to warehouses, workshops and manufacturing facilities visited daily by freight vehicles.
