Turkish Cypriot Berk Güçlü heads Turkic states’ orthopaedics congress in Baku

The International Congress of Orthopaedics and Traumatology of Turkic States was held in Baku, chaired by Turkish Cypriot professor Berk Güçlü. Several doctors from Northern Cyprus took part in the forum.

Berk Güçlü heads the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology at Ufuk University (Ufuk Üniversitesi) in Ankara. Alongside him, the Turkish Cypriot medical community was represented in Baku by Professor Ramadan Özmanевra, Associate Professors Barış Polat and Tuğcan Demir, doctors Cenk Soydan, Barış Peker and Özenc Aktınoz, as well as Professors Ulunay Kanatlı and Metin Özalay.

Participants in the congress included specialists from Azerbaijan, Türkiye, the TRNC, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. The event brings together orthopaedists and traumatologists from Turkic-speaking countries to exchange clinical experience.

The sessions covered the latest areas of the specialty, including robotic surgery, artificial intelligence-assisted diagnostics and biotechnological treatment methods. Participants also paid particular attention to the training of young specialists and joint research projects involving clinics from the participating countries.
