Car catches fire in Lefkoşa: flames damage trees
A car caught fire while travelling on Lefkoşa’s Northern Bypass. The vehicle was completely destroyed, and the flames spread to dry grass along the roadside.
According to police, the fire broke out at around 15:30. A short circuit occurred in the electrical system of the vehicle with registration number LZ 681 while it was travelling, after which the fire started.
The flames quickly engulfed the car and spread to the surrounding area. As a result of the fire, approximately one dönüm of shrubland and dry grass, as well as three pine trees, were damaged.
Firefighters arrived at the scene and extinguished the blaze. No one was injured in the incident, but the car was completely destroyed.
Police continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
