Another Beached Whale Found on the Coast of Cyprus
Another whale has been found stranded on the coast of Cyprus. The animal's carcass will be taken to Tashkent Nature Park, where experts will conduct a necropsy to determine the cause of death.
According to experts, cases of marine mammals washing ashore are an important signal of the state of the marine ecosystem and require thorough scientific study.
Among the possible causes of death, specialists cite disease, sea pollution, collisions with vessels, entanglement in so-called «ghost» fishing nets, underwater noise, and the effects of climate change. Each such case will be investigated separately.
