Roads to be closed in Northern Cyprus due to duathlon and Nowruz celebrations
On Sunday, March 29, temporary traffic restrictions will be introduced in Northern Cyprus due to sporting and festive events.
From 08:00 to 11:30, a duathlon (run — bike — run) will take place on the Nicosia Northern Ring Road. During this time, traffic in the area will be regulated by the police.
The cycling portion of the competition will be held between the Küçük Sanayi junction and the Haspolat Taşkent junction, where athletes will be escorted by police.
Additionally, due to Nowruz celebrations at the İskele Municipality picnic area, part of the main İskele — Famagusta road will be closed from 08:00 to 18:00, from Lokum Çemberi towards Famagusta.
Famagusta can be reached via the alternative route Lokum Çemberi — İskele Ercan — Granel yolu. The road towards Karpaz will remain open.
Police have urged drivers to exercise caution, reduce speed, and follow road signs during the events.
