An example for adults: children and volunteers joined forces to clean up natural areas in Northern Cyprus
Under the auspices of the Department of Environmental Protection in the TRNC, large-scale clean-up events were held in popular natural areas, aimed at raising environmental awareness. Government institutions, volunteers, and students from local educational establishments took part in the actions. In the Boğaz area, students from Karaoğlanoğlu Primary School tidied up the forest park area (Boğaz Piknik Alanı); in Kalkanlı, a local association carried out a clean-up in the area where historic centuries-old olive trees are located; and in Yeni Boğaziçi, students from Doğu Akdeniz Doğa Koleji and activists from the Temiz Ada group cleared litter from the Bediz picnic area. The organizers emphasized that joint initiatives by children and adults should serve as an example for the entire society in matters of protecting the island's nature.
